Built on your block

One backyard,
four reasons.

  1. 01

    Rent it out

Around $550-650 a week, location-dependent - $28,600 to $33,800 a year the backyard is not earning yet. Roughly 18-21% gross on the purchase price, where a typical Sydney house returns about 2.6%.

  2. 02

    House family

Room for parents or grown kids - close, but independent.

  3. 03

    Work from home

A true studio, thirty steps from the kitchen.

  4. 04

    Stop waiting for growth

Sydney values sit 5.3% below their January peak, and rates have risen three times this year to 4.35%. A block that only grows in value has stopped doing the one thing it was bought for.

Precision-engineered components, built on your block by a licensed builder.

Designed in Australia. Certified, insured and financed like any other home.

Do I need council approval?

Yes - your home needs approval before any work starts, and nothing begins until it is granted. We prepare, lodge and manage the whole approval for you, through to your Occupation Certificate. Which pathway your block uses depends on the block; we check that first and handle it either way.

Who builds it?

A licensed builder, on your block. Rivela's homes are built by D&L Golden Construction, the family building company behind Rivela - the same team whose recent work is shown above.

Will my bank finance it?

It finances as ordinary construction. The home is built on site and fixed permanently to its foundation, so you do not need a specialist lender - talk to your own bank the way you would for any build.

What does the price include?

Supply and the on-site build on a standard site, including standard service connections. Site conditions and approval costs are assessed per site and quoted in writing before you sign. A concrete slab is an optional upgrade on the Studio and Granny Flat.

How long does it take?

You get a written schedule before you sign anything - timing depends on your block, your council and production. Once approval is granted, site works and component production run at the same time, so nothing waits unnecessarily.
